Rick Gooding is a licensed architect, a longtime educator, and a founding principal of Chu-Gooding, an architecture, interiors and exhibition design firm in Los Angeles.

Rick’s Subterranea drawings have appeared in exhibitions across the country, from Los Angeles to Michigan to Manhattan, Kansas. He received an Honorable Mention in PRINT Magazine's 2012 Hand Drawn Illustration Competition and was a Finalist in the 2013 FX & Blueprint Drawing Competition in London. His work has been featured on the Drawing Center Viewing Program, LA Forum, The Draftery, Drawing Architecture, and SOCKS.

In 2019, selections from the Subterranea series were published in the collection titled “Single-Handedly,” published by Princeton Architectural Press.

Rick received a Master of Science in Building Design from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Architecture from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc).
